Mental chains
Sometimes the chains that prevent us from being free are more mental than physical.

The tiny seed knew that in order to grow it needed to be dropped in dirt, covered in darkness, and struggle to reach the light.

What bothered us most a year ago? A month ago? Even a week ago? It’s probable that whatever it was, we were obsessed with it, certain that our futures were ruined, that there was no reasonable solution. It’s also probable that we feared we simply couldn’t survive the complexity of the situation. But we did. And we always will be able to survive any and all difficulties. We are never, absolutely never, given more than we can handle. In fact, we are given exactly what we need at any given time.
We have many lessons so learn. Fortunately, we have tools, like these daily meditations, to guide us through the lessons. We need mainly to remember what we are powerless over, that there is a power greater than ourselves, and that life will become simple; we’ll need no extra homework when we’ve turned it over to the care of God.
Whatever my problem today, I will let God have it. A solution is in the making. I’ll see it just as quickly as I can let go of the problem.

Thinking about things you cannot change is like purposefully keeping your thoughts stuck in a traffic jam.
At the end of the day, all you need is hope and strength….hope that it will get better, and strength to hold on until it does.
Whatever brings you to your knees in weakness carries the greatest potential for your personal success and spiritual victory.
If you always speak of your troubles, you will always have troubles to speak of.
Anybody got a better idea for the quote that will be representing the butterfly charm on my Pocket Quotes idea that I’m working on for Curiosities? If so, speak now or forever hold your peace!
Remember, the object is to have a compass for life directions and a butterfly for life transformation. I was searching for a meaningful quote to represent that butterfly; the butterfly quotes I have on file are not quite right. Suggestions, anyone?
BTW: This is an example of the quote cards that will accompany the charms for this project. The purpose will be to help people memorize each quote and associate each quote with a charm so that the charms become a rosary of sorts (forgive me if that word in this usage offends anyone; that’s not my intention).
For the males of the group who do not wish to have a pocketful of charms in their pockets, I am requesting quotes from manufacturers to have stainless steel circular discs engraved with each quote in this grouping. I hope that will appeal to you, and to some of you females, as well. I kinda like the idea, anyway.
I’ve ordered the first 18 of the charms, and I’ve put together the first 8 quotation cards. Things are rolling along here. The compasses are a really nice quality, and they actually work!
G’night, all!

Well, whattaya know! We get to cruise straight through a “gale” between here and Boston (apparently we can’t go around it), with waves in excess of 25 feet beginning at midnight, all day tomorrow, going right through until we reach Boston. The captain just made a warning announcement for visitors and crew. They’ve been busily tying down the lounge chairs on the outdoor decks, and otherwise making things secure. I do believe we’re going to have more of an adventure than we signed on for! This may be the last time I’m online for a while. Send up a bunch of prayers and positive thoughts for us, please…
I am packing to leave for my first real vacation in over a decade…a cruise to Bermuda with my best friend. Hubby will be standing guard over the kitties and the home front, enjoying his solitude.
I may or may not find a way to post features while I’m gone; however, I’m certain I will go through Curiosities withdrawals if I DON’T find a way to post, at least minimally! I miss my posts even when you all don’t! LOL!
I will be back at my “post” (pun intended) on Friday the 27th. Send out happy thoughts that I don’t have to paddle my way home! .¸¸.ღ
The struggle you’re in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow.
Don’t give up.
