Squirrel buffet INSIDE the birdfeeder

And this is the funniest thing that happened this week. We went out to survey the storm damage and came home to find this little squirrel INSIDE one of our birdfeeders. The lid must have been knocked loose during the storm, and this little guy climbed right in and didn’t know how to get back out. We had to put it on the ground and tip it over to coax him out.

Superstorm Sandy

This is just one of the downed trees that had our power down for five days.

Internet is back, and so am I!

We finally got power and Internet back last night, after Superstorm Sandy knocked us out on Monday. I hope the rest of you are doing well and have had power restored.

Heading into the storm…for real!

Well, whattaya know!  We get to cruise straight through a “gale” between here and Boston (apparently we can’t go around it), with waves in excess of 25 feet beginning at midnight, all day tomorrow, going right through until we reach Boston.  The captain just made a warning announcement for visitors and crew.  They’ve been busily tying down the lounge chairs on the outdoor decks, and otherwise making things secure.  I do believe we’re going to have more of an adventure than we signed on for!  This may be the last time I’m online for a while.  Send up a bunch of prayers and positive thoughts for us, please…
