Brian Ruth: Master of the Chainsaw

Isela Maricci, from my Facebook page, found this video of Brian Ruth, chainsaw artist!  Fascinating how a clunky piece of equipment can be used in such a beautiful way!  Thank you, Isela, for this link!

Majestic Driftwood Elephant Sculptures

South African artist Andries Botha has constructed some of the most life-like elephant sculptures over the course of his artistic career. The artist is known for incorporating traditional elements and using raw materials like driftwood to produce his mammoth creatures. His public installation piece titled You Can Buy My Heart and My Soul, originally installed for Beautfort’s second Triennial of Contemporary Art by the Sea in 2006, replicates a family of elephants trailing along the coastlines in Beligium.

The 3D Art Exhibit that Lets You Interact with the Artwork

Currently running at the Hangzhou Peace International Exhibition and Conference Centre is the 2012 Magic Art Special Exhibition in China. The difference between this and most other exhibits is that visitors are encouraged to interact and become part of the artwork. It’s a fun experience, especially for children who get to touch, feel and play with the various artworks. It also makes for some great photo opportunities!
